Mike Says "Life Begins at 50"

In my thirties and forties instead of looking to be entertained I took college classes to learn what I wanted to, earned a good living and saved (mostly in metals, because I had no trust in the system), took on other careers, and learn new trades.

At the age of 51 (2001) I decided I wanted to take control of my own life. I was feed up with all the regulations, people telling me what was best, all my stuff seemed to own me instead of me owning it (I spent my time keeping things up), and all the things I was expected to do. I liquidated most all of my belongings and started using the knowledge I gained from my past.

My kids were grown, I had no debt, my wife and I had good health, my wife has been good to me by giving me the freedom to do as I please, go where I want, and stay gone for weeks at a time.

Some people call it early retirement, but I started a complete new career of helping people improve their health. I used that information to improve my health and at 60 years old improving my wife's health even when the odds, medical world, peers, and government are against us, instead of saying what can we do to help. Doing something most were not aware, most people (at least my family and peers) thought you wait until you are sick, then you go to the doctor, start taking medications, and slowly lose your life style while you wait for a long slow, painful, death, that destroys the family unit. Which meant the beginning of the end (all the males in my family died in their 60s after starting their sicknesses in their 40s).

I got a motor cycle and traveled around (Central and North America) helping others. At first I lost a lot of money, but in time, with help from others and developing skills that improve lives, I was able to break even. Then 2006 my wife started her health problems, we didn’t share the same beliefs in health care. So I lost more money trying to continue my new career. 2009 (at 60 years old) her health turned to the worse which cause us to go from a perfect credit rating to bankruptcy.

After seeing the results I was getting she decided she would rather I cared for her. The system would not allow me to continue my newly acquired profession in the states, especially when I wanted to care for my wife myself. With over 60,000 miles of travel and an abundance of hands on experience, we choose to relocate out of the states where my expertise would be appreciated, useful, and needed.

Now, we return to the states to visit friends and family, plus I do classes and seminars on what I do best, be fruitful under difficult to impossible circumstances (health, safety, and financial adversity).

Let me know if I can help you or your organization prepare for the future. Ready or not, there will be a future. NoStressMike.com More on Mike
